In psychiatric practice for 27 years, I treat adults, adolescents, and children. I am board certified by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I practice Psychiatry in an unusual way. My phone is always with me, and I am readily available for my patients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, holidays included, no matter where I am in the world. Unless I am in session with a patient, I answer my own phone personally. I return phone calls promptly. I am always on-call for my patients because I believe that this is the proper way to practice Psychiatry. Recognizing the intensive needs of many patients and viewing the doctor-patient relationship as crucial to healing, I do not use an answering service.
I conduct office hours seven days a week, and will usually get new patients in for the first appointment within 24 hours. Certainly I can guarantee seeing you in no more than 48 hours. I also make house calls on a routine basis (ie, limited to within a 100 mile distance from the office). Additionally, the nature of my psychiatric practice allows me to have patients who live in all parts of the United States and the world via telephone and Skype.
I specialize in the pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, phobias and psychotic states. However, I will implement treatment with medication only after all non-pharmacologic strategies have been assessed thoroughly.
